LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The city of Lexington held a take back event to help people dispose of household hazardous waste.

People were invited to drop by and get rid of items with corrosive, toxic, or flammable ingredients. Those are usually found in paint, cleaners, batteries, and pesticides.

These are the types of things that can pollute the environment or endanger people who are exposed.

The city collected them for free, and will properly dispose of them soon.

If you're interested in the city's next free collection, check the city's website.
