LINCOLN COUNTY, KY — The Lincoln County Fire Department hosted a breakfast Saturday to collect items for those impacted by the gas pipeline explosion.

On Thursday, the explosion killed one person, destroyed five homes, and displaced dozens of people.

Firefighter, Tyler Satterly, said the community was asked to bring items to the pancake breakfast to help those who were left with nothing.

"That's just what we do. I mean that's what we're here for. It hits home pretty hard for everybody, the victims especially, first responders and everybody else," said Satterly.

The fire chief said people are heading back into their homes to check on the damage. A boil water advisory is in effect and many do not have electricity.

Station 3 will continue to collect donations for the coming weeks.
