Convention center catches fire in Lexington, no injuries reported

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Lexington Fire Department extinguished a fire Thursday that broke out on a portion of the Central Bank Center.

Crews responded to the scene in downtown Lexington at roughly 1:45 p.m. to a report of a possible structure fire with flames visible on the roof.

LFD Batallion Chief Jordan Saas said crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire after arriving on-scene.

No injures have been reported thus far.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
