ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Multiple car crashes have shut down I-75 in Rockcastle County in both directions.
Both Kentucky State Police and the KY Transportation Cabinet are warning drivers about the conditions.
🚨TRAFFIC ALERT🚨
— KY State Police (@kystatepolice) February 15, 2021
I-75 at the Rockcastle/Laurel Co line is closed at mm 49 (Livingston Exit) due to multiple collisions. If you don't have to be traveling in the Post 11 Area, please don't. All roads are slick and conditions are deteriorating.
One LEX 18 reporter was near MM 62 when he reported slick conditions on the highway, and pulled off for safety.
KYTC says I-75 is now blocked in several locations, and KSP is helping drivers find a detour.
Road conditions in other parts of Kentucky will be problematic tonight, and for the next few days. Be careful if you have to travel.
⚠️⚠️⚠️We are getting reports that I-75 in Rockcastle and Laurel is shut down. Be aware we have a high potential of this weather effecting Boyd/Carter/Greenup/Lawrence counties. Please try and stay home tonight before roadways begin icing⚠️⚠️⚠️
