UPDATE: June 17 at 9:25 a.m.
New details have been released in the arrest of 31-year-old Jesse Lewis, who is charged with murder in Clark County.
According to a warrant of arrest, on June 4, police were contacted by the owner of the property in which Lewis was renting because he had not heard from him since May 24.
Prior to that, the owner, according to the warrant, told officers that he received a call that Lewis was firing shots on the night of May 23 and 24.
According to the warrant, the owner contacted Lewis on May 24 and "asked him not to fire weapons anymore." The owner reportedly told officers Lewis "was very upset and crying on the phone."
The warrant states that on June 4, the landlord went to the residence because he hadn't received rent from Lewis. However, when he arrived, he noted that he could not get into the home because Lewis had changed the locks.
According to the warrant, the landlord "could smell a foul odor and was able to gain entry through an unlocked window." When inside, the landlord told officers that he had found "an unknown person covered with a blanket lying in the middle of the kitchen floor."
The warrant details that once officers arrived on the scene, they observed "blood drag marks leading from the body toward the middle of the residence" along with shell casings on the floor.
According to the warrant, the victim, who the Clark County Coroner's Office identified as 47-year-old Michael M. Walker, "worked with Lewis and frequently visited his apartment."
Walker's wife told police, according to the warrant, that she had last heard from him on May 23 and that he was at Lewis' apartment because they were traveling to a work-related job.
According to the warrant, a witness told police that she had seen the two men on May 23 "drinking alcohol and hanging out on the porch together." Just after midnight, she reportedly told police that she heard "a lot of commotion" and between 2:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., she heard several gunshots.
Further, the warrant states that several other witnesses heard the sound of gunshots around the same time, along with noting that the 2004 Toyota 4Runner with a Florida license plate was at the apartment.
