LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Pizza Hut delivery driver was fired after a post appeared to show racist messages sent to a customer from a store employee.

According to Shirae Bledsoe, she and her roommates ordered a pizza online from the Waller Avenue store, but accidentally tipped .09 cents.

In the aftermath, Bledsoe says the driver then called and yelled at them and demanded that they come pick up the food. Afterwards, the same number texted and stated that she and other employees spit in the food and then proceeded to call Bledsoe a racist slur and made a reference to lynching.

Pizza Hut issued a statement regarding the post,:

"We were shocked by the driver’s text messages but have no reason to believe anyone’s food was actually compromised. Nevertheless the driver’s threats and language are completely unacceptable and she has been terminated as a result."
