Deputies: Woman taken to ER after traffic stop, meth found 'inside her person'

DANVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Boyle County Sheriff's officers had to take a woman to the hospital following a traffic stop to remove a bag containing methamphetamine from "inside her person."

Deputies conducted a traffic stop just before 4 a.m. Friday on Stevenson Avenue in Danville. Officers say they located two digital scales containing methamphetamine and a marijuana pipe in the vehicle.

A man in the car, Derek Perkins was arrested and charged with Possession Of Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine 1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure To or Improper Signal and Operating on Suspended/Revoked License.

A passenger in the car, Colleen Spears, was arrested and was taken to the emergency room to have a large bag removed from a body cavity. Spears is charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, 1st Degree, Possession Of Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine 1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Promoting Contraband - 1st Degree.

Both occupants were lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
