ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A 98-year-old woman was killed in a house fire in Lawrenceburg.
According to officials, the fire broke out Tuesday at a home in Court Street. The fire was knocked out very quickly, but officers found the elderly homeowner alone.
Virginia Wiley was pulled from the house by firefighters but died from her injuries.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire. Officials did not see any working smoke detectors in the home.
