LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in Lexington have recaptured an inmate who they accused of walking away from a work release assignment Wednesday.

Authorities said 42-year-old Stanley Eugene Baker Jr. was arrested about 2:15 a.m. Friday.

A statement from Lt. Matt LeMond did not disclose where Baker was found or how police tracked him down.

Police said Baker was working Wednesday at a community service project near Winchester and Industry roads when he disappeared.

Baker was serving time for a parole violation and fleeing and evading police, among other charges.

He faces a new charge of second-degree escape.
