LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — It was a disappointing loss for UK to Ole Miss. But for some fans, the excitement of watching a game in-person outweighed any disappointment in the outcome.

Things were certainly very different though, only about 12,000 fans were allowed in, which is about 20 percent capacity.

“It’s definitely been different, but it’s definitely been fun. I think it’s just making the most of what we can do,” says freshmen, Emma Dawson.

One thing they aren’t allowed to do is tailgate, but fans kept the spirit up in different ways.

"The vibes are still there though. We're doing social distancing stuff like that, but the vibes are still there, we still feel electric,” says UK fan Pearce Nisbet.

As far as obeying the mask rule inside, UK fan Noah Freyberger says security did a good job enforcing the rules, and he felt very safe.

“I think they did a really great job, people were walking around making sure everyone had the mask on unless you were eating or drinking, of course, it was a nice atmosphere I thought also," said Freyberger.

If you didn’t catch the game, UK returns to Kroger Field next Saturday.
