UPDATE: Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m.

One person is dead following a vehicle collision on US 27 in Somerset Wednesday morning.

According to the Somerset Fire Department, crews were dispatched to the area where a passenger vehicle was found lodged underneath a commercial truck and trailer.

Following arrival, the Pulaski County Coroner was requested to the scene. No other injuries were reported in the collision.

The incident is under investigation by the Somerset Police Department.

The Somerset Fire Department reported that all north lanes on US Highway 27 near Norwood Road are back open following a fatal accident on Wednesday morning.

Crews have responded to the scene of a reported fatal accident that has blocked all north bound lanes on US Highway 27 near Norwood Road in Somerset on Wednesday morning.

The Somerset Fire Department reported that the roadway is expected to be closed for several hours.

The department asked drivers to find an alternate route and LEX 18 will have additional information as it becomes available.
