LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX NEWS) — A 23-year-old McKee man died Thursday morning after his reportedly motorcycle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a passenger car on Industrial Boulevard in Laurel County.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Joshua Burkhart. The crash occurred at around 7:30 a.m. on Industrial Boulevard, located off West Hal Rogers Parkway.
Investigators said Burkhart was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Industrial Boulevard when it crossed the center line and struck a Chrysler 300 head-on.
Burkhart was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner's Office. The driver of the other involved vehicle was reportedly uninjured.
Three crash reconstructionists with the Laurel County Sheriff's Office are leading the investigation.
Industrial Boulevard reopened as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
