LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Starting on Monday November 23, Fayette Mall officials will enforce its youth escort policy.

The policy requires anyone under the age of 18 is accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The policy was enacted earlier this year when representatives say there was trouble with unsupervised children.

This updated policy is in effect for the entire mall except for stores with exterior entrances. Those include Macy's, Dillard's, Dick's Sporting Goods, and JC Penney.

Unsupervised shoppers under the age of 18 will not be permitted to congregate in the mall parking lot or exterior common areas.

The policy will be in effect for all hours on Saturday and Sunday, and Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm until closing time.
