FBI agent shot, Pulaski Co. constable arrested in corruption probe

SOMERSET, Ky. (LEX 18) — FBI agents were involved in a shooting Friday morning in Pulaski County while attempting to make an arrest.

Authorities said a field agent was shot and wounded while attempting to make an arrest on an unidentified county constable.

That constable also was shot and wounded during the arrest attempt. Neighbors tell LEX 18 that the injured constable is Gary Baldock.

According to a statement from the FBI, the shooting happened "during the execution of a federal arrest warrant." Authorities said the incident occurred on Moutain View Drive.

Officials said the agent's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Apparently the incident was part of a federal investigation potentially involving a number of constables, including Mike "Wally" Wallace as part of a possible corruption charges.

Officials confirmed that Wallace was arrested Friday morning by federal agents.

A spokeswoman for the FBI said more information will be released when after investigation at the scene is completed.

Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 11 were assisting the investigation.
