Firefighters battle home fire in Owingsville

BATH COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 19) — Fire crews were on the scene early Thursday morning of home fire in Bath County.

The Owingsville Volunteer Fire Department said in post on its Facebook page that the fire broke out at a residence on Kentucky Highway 36 West.

Officials said the fire was reported about 4 a.m. The blaze was mostly out by 6 a.m. and crews were cleaning up and checking for hot spots.

The home was a total loss, authorities said.

Officials were asking commuters to use caution traveling in the area.

The post said crews from Olympian Springs, Preston and Salt Lick fire departments were also working to strike the blaze.
