FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Governor's office has announced that both American and state flags at public office buildings are lowered to half-staff in honor of Rep. Elijah E. Cummings.
The proclamation was made by President Donald Trump following the passing of Rep. Cummings early Thursday morning.
Cummings, the son of a sharecropper, was chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee. He was 68-years-old.
The flags will remain at half-staff until sundown Friday, Oct. 18.
