(LEX 18) — (LEX 18) — Bell County native and former University of Kentucky basketball star Maci Morris says she is back home in Kentucky. She had been living in Empoli, Italy, and was part of the nationwide lockdown there.
Morris had been playing professional basketball for USE Scotti Empoli since August 2019. Her season was cut short because of the coronavirus outbreak there.
Morris tweeted "I made it back home!I want to thank everyone who has checked in on me! Thank you for your prayers and wishing me safe travel!"

In Italy, more than 15,000 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed and more than 1,000 people have died from COVID-19, according to NBC News.
"I wasn’t really scared to get the coronavirus, I was more scared not being able to leave," Morris told LEX 18 earlier this week.
