FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Fitness Centers are taking extra precautions to keep from spreading the coronavirus and other sicknesses. One gym in Frankfort says the goal is to help people continue to live a healthy lifestyle.

With the spread of the coronavirus, Elite Fitness in Frankfort has implemented new cleaning policies. "We've put up some signs to remind everybody to wipe down equipment, before and after they use the equipment to kind of help protect themselves, and to protect others. Then we're also going through with the Clorox wipes on the equipment throughout the day ourselves," General Manager, Tisha Owen said.

They may seem simple but it's taking those small steps that can make a huge difference. "We're keeping contact with our distributor with all of our cleaning supplies to make sure that they have enough for us to keep on hand, for hand sanitizer and the cleaner," Owen said.

Owen says their spray is a 99% cleaner, which kills all bacteria. Elite Fitness has noticed their elderly gym goers haven't been coming in, but other people have. Which helps people continue to live their healthy lifestyle. "Continue to workout, continue to eat good, and stay active around other people, you can continue to keep your immune system up and keep it balanced," Owen said.
