LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Funeral arrangements have been announced for anti-violence activist Anita Franklin.

Franklin died unexpectedly on Monday. She had been a tireless warrior after the murder of her son Antonio Franklin in 2014. Antonio was gunned down in Duncan Park. Police say he was an innocent bystander. Franklin used her pain to become a passionate advocate for sensible gun laws.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Consolidated Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.

Franklin will be interred at Evergreen Memory Gardens.
