UPDATE: Golden Alert canceled after missing Bell County woman found

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Officials in Bell County have canceled a Golden Alert after a missing women who has dementia was found safe.

Officials were searching for 67-year-old Ada Hoskins.

Bell County Emergency Management and the Bell County Sheriff's Department said Hoskins had gone missing Wednesday evening near Kentucky Highway 3482.

Officials said she was found safe with family members in Middlesboro.

A posting on the Bell County Sheriff's Department's Facebook page said "shots were fired at members of the search crew," but a dispatcher tells LEX 18 that it may have been an elderly resident mistakenly believing a searcher was trying to break into her home.

No injuries were reported.
