Golden Alert canceled for Nicholasville man

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in Nicholasville have canceled a Golden Alert for an elderly man who went missing earlier in the day.

Officials were asking the public to help look for 79-year-old Carl "Tom" McKenney, who last was seen about 9:30 a.m. by construction workers in the Tower drive Orchard area.

McKenney was described as standing 5-foot-9, weighing 185 pounds and having gray hair. He was wearing a plaid shirt, gray coat and a University of Kentucky ball cap. He also was wearing house slippers, police said.

McKenney was found safe, according to Nicholasville Police Department's Facebook page.
