GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) — Georgetown police is asking for the public's help as they try to capture a suspect or suspects breaking into vehicles.

Officers are patrolling neighborhoods but many communities don't have a lot of lighting at night. Police are encouraging people to turn on their porch lights to help illuminate the streets.

"The extra lighting in the neighborhoods will not only deter criminals, but also help officers see what is going on in the area," police wrote in a Facebook post.
