LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Health officials in Lexington said Wednesday that confirmed flu cases in the city have topped 300.
Officials with the Lexington Fayette County Health Department said there have been 303 confirmed cases of the flu in Lexington, with two reported fatalities attributed to illness caused by the virus.

Several of the cases involved people older than 50 and those with prior health conditions, officials have said.

Health officials also said that upward of 80% percent of the cases involved those who had not received the flu vaccine this season.
Officials said flu shots were available without appointment at 650 Newtown Pike on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information is available at 859-288-2483.
