Hiker rescued after 10-foot fall from rock shelter in Kentucky

(LEX 18) — A hiker was rescued after falling 10 feet off a rock shelter, requiring emergency response from multiple search and rescue teams.

Wolf and Powell County search and rescue teams located the hiker at the intersection of the Rush Ridge and Rough Trail. The rescue team placed her in a vacuum mattress and carried her to an ambulance, which was waiting at the head of the trail.

She was taken for further care at Clark Regional Hospital.
