JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Transportation Cabinet announced Friday that a historic bridge in Jessamine County will be closed.

Engineers determined that the bridge on Drake Lane that runs over the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks should be closed to all traffic due to the condition of the substructure. The document noted a change in the weight carrying capacity of the bridge.

All traffic between the 85 to 700 block of Drake Lane must access the route from Lexington Road and the 900 to 300 block and Miller Lane should only access the area from Jessamine Station Road, according to emergency management officials.

Barricades are in place at the bridge.
