LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Office and Homelessness Prevention and Intervention will partner with organizations in the community to conduct a count of homeless individuals and families in Lexington on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

The LexCount includes persons temporarily residing in emergency shelters and transitional housing programs as well as persons who are unsheltered.

Teams of community volunteers, formerly homeless and currently homeless individuals as well as community providers will be out on the streets of Lexington and Fayette County locating and counting those unsheltered individuals and families.

Last year, 787 individuals were counted. Of those counted, 69 were children living in emergency shelter. No children were found to be living unsheltered.
