Horse Triggerman sustains fatal injury, jockey transported to hospital

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Keeneland Medical Director Dr. Barry Schumer released a statement after jockey Adam Beschizza was hurt following the fatal injury to horse Triggerman in Wednesday's fifth race.

“Adam Beschizza suffered an injury to his left clavicle. He was stable upon discharge from Keeneland’s First Aid station and transported to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington for further evaluation," said Schumer.

The incident report said that Trigerman, age 3, suffered a catastrophic injury to the left front limb in the fifth race.

Triggerman's trainer was Joe Sharp.
