LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — IHOP's 14th annual Free Pancake Day comes with a special topping: help for ill, injured and recovering children.

The University of Kentucky said the giveaway will raise money for the Children's Miracle Network. Officials said all donations raised in Lexington, Ashland, Bowling Green and Richmond will go to Kentucky Children's Hospital.

Participants can receive a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes at IHOPs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. All donations then will go to the Children's Miracle Network.

In addition to doing good, participants also can enter a contest with $250,000 in prizes, including clothing and bicycles. One grand prize-winner will receive free pancakes for life.

IHOP says it has a quarter-million pancakes ready for the rush and has raised more than $30 million through the annual event.
