JACKSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police are investigating a murder-suicide that took place in Sandgap on Sunday evening.

Officers say they were contacted by Jackson County Dispatch after receiving a report of a woman who had been shot on Gravel Lick Road. When officers got to the scene, they found a man armed with a gun. Police say the man ran behind his home and fired a shot. When officers located him, he was dead.

KSP Troopers also discovered the body of a woman next to the home. Both the man and woman died from gunshots.

The Jackson County Coroner identified them as 42-year-old Susan Taylor and 50-year-old Billy Taylor, both from McKee. Their bodies have been taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Frankfort for autopsies.

Police believe no one else was involved in the shooting and are not searching for any suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
