Kentucky State Police confirms UTV collision ended in fatality

Kentucky State Police has confirmed that a single-vehicle injury collision involving a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) has resulted in a fatality.

According to a press release, the Kentucky State Police Richmond Post was contacted around 9 p.m. on Friday by the Boyle County Sheriff's Office for assistance in a collision involving a UTV on Forkland Road.

Upon arriving to the scene, troopers discovered the driver of the UTV "failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, exited the roadway, and struck a tree," according to the release. As a result of the incident, 63-year-old Connie Thompson of Lebanon sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.

The driver of the vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital via helicopter. According to Kentucky State Police, the toxicology reports for the driver are pending.

On scene assisting Kentucky State Police was the Boyle County Sheriff's Office, Boyle County EMS, the Boyle County Fire Department, and the Boyle County Coroner's Office, according to the press release.
