ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A man has died after losing control of his vehicle in Rockcastle County.

Police say the crash happened on I-75 near the 56-mile marker Monday. Officers say 39-year-old Nathan T.J. Rubalcava of Ball Ground, Georgia, was operating a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta north on I-75 at the time.

Authorities say Rubalcava lost control of his vehicle and collided with a 2005 International Tractor Trailer, operated by 54-year-old Danny Joe Keller of Fremont, Iowa.

Rubalcava was pronounced dead on the scene by Rockcastle Co Coroner's Office. Hazardous icy roadway conditions are believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
