KSP: Man shot after refusing to give car keys

SPRINGFIELD, Ky. (LEX 18) — Early Monday morning, Kentucky State Police Post 15 units were called to the scene of a shooting that took place 7 miles north of Springfield on Mayes Creek Rd. At 7:40 AM EST.

State Police say Anthony Moore, 40, was approached at his home by a man ordering him to hand over his car keys. Moore was shot after troopers say he refused, and the man ran away.

Kentucky State Police identified the shooter as Alvin Miller, 36, from Lebanon, Ky. Hours after the incident, officials say Miller was found on Little Davis Road and brought in, charged with assault of the 1st degree and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He was placed in the Marion County Detention Center.

Moore was air lifted to UK Medical Center to be treated.
