KSP: Mother, daughter arrested for plotting to burn down business

GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Greenup County woman and her daughter have been arrested after investigators say they plotted to burn down their business.

According to a release from Kentucky State Police, Manjit Singh, 48, of Greenup County and her daughter, Harpneet Bath, age 27, of Vancouver, Canada conspired to commit insurance fraud by burning down their business "Wolfe's Food Mart and Pool Hall."

A joint investigation by troopers, the Greenup County Sheriff's Office, the FBI and the Commonwealth Attorney's office uncovered the plot and the two were taken into custody.

Both women were arrested on the charge of Conspiracy to Commit Arson – 2nd Degree. Bath was also charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence.
