LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) - Over 6,000 customers are without power throughout the city. Kentucky Utilities is working to figure out what caused the issue.

The majority of those affected are in the Versailles Road/Cardinal Valley area. Some parts of Transylvania University's campus are also without power.

Officers are responding to major intersections with power inverters to manually control traffic signals. Motorists should treat dark intersections as a multi-way stop.
