(WDRB) — A Kentucky congressman is filing a bill to reduce the cost of insulin.
According to WDRB, Rep. Brett Guthrie and three others are introducing the Lower Insulin Costs Now Act. Guthrie explained that insulin hadn't changed in decades, so there is no explanation for the sudden price increase of the medication.
An investigation by congress discovered that the rising price of insulin is hurting those who are uninsured. The goal of the bill is to reduce the cost of insulin by getting cheaper generic insulin to the market faster.
