LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Laurel County man has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday.
According to sheriff's officials, charges against Douglas Earl Bailey, 44, of East Bernstadt were upgraded from assault to murder.
The shooting occurred Dec. 22 at a home on Old KY 30. Michael Bailey, 28, was shot in the chest with a pistol.
He was later pronounced deceased at UK Medical Center.
Bailey was arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
