The Lexington Fire Department has released new details regarding a structure fire that occurred Friday afternoon at the 1600 block of Auburn Drive.
According to the department, crews were dispatched to the scene around 4:37 p.m. Friday. Upon a preliminary investigation, crews discovered a kitchen fire. The flames were quickly extinguished and contained in a single room.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported and no residents were displaced in the incident. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation, according to the fire department.
