The Lexington Police Department revealed in a social media video that police were searching Preston's Spring Park on Sunday in connection with the 1997 disappearance of Lydia Perkins.

Detectives conducted the search as part of an active missing persons investigation. The case remains open with a detective currently assigned to it.

Perkins was reported missing in October 1997, and her case has remained unsolved for more than 25 years.
