LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Lexington Recycling Center is scheduled to reopen for business Monday, May 4, 2020.

City officials say they expect to restart curbside recycling for residences and businesses on Monday.

Recycling collection stopped April 13 due to a broken shaft, which is the piece that moves recyclables for sorting at Lexington's Recycling Center.

“We know blue carts have been filling up fast with folks spending more time at home,” said Tracey Thurman, Director of Waste Management. “We are grateful that Machinex was able to quickly get us parts and work with us on the installation.”
