Lexington sees several car crashes as snow continues to fall

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The City of Lexington reported that police have seen four crashes so far this morning.

This comes after about a half-inch of snow fell overnight.

"Motorists are urged to drive with caution as temperatures stay below freezing this weekend," the Director of the City of Lexington Streets and Roads Department, Rob Allen, said in a press release. "Watch for slick areas, especially on overpasses and untreated roadways."

Allen also said snow crews treated roads overnight.

The City has activated its Community Emergency Winter Weather Plan for shelters, which will be active through Monday. It could possibly be extended.
