NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — All weekend long, The Nail Shop in Nicholasville's Brannon Crossing shopping center has been donating half of all their tips to the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Christmas charity event.

The event gives Christmas gifts to kids in need.

The Nail Shop Owner Kim Huynh says she was hesitant to ask her staff to donate part of their salary, but she says everyone was on board to help the kids.

Huynh says to earn even more money for the cause, now until Wednesday, she will be matching her employees' tips and hopes to earn $1,000 by the end of the week.

"A lot of people in the service industry have had to close their doors... and so, the fact that we've been able to stay open, and that we have such a loyal community. This was just the best way for us to pay it forward and just do something to give to the community that continues to give to us," said Huynh.
