LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The novel coronavirus shut down schools and businesses and lots of theatre performances. Local arts organizations and school drama departments had to abruptly stop their shows due to the virus. One Lexington theatre company is finding a creative workaround to allow artists to express themselves and to provide entertainment to their fan base.

Distilled Theatre Company has launched "The Couch Concert Series." The online video concert features some well-known faces from the troupe performing safely from the comfort of their own homes.

"Today we find ourselves physically separated. Our stories have been silenced as live performances have been canceled and social distancing encouraged. This time of caution is necessary for healing; however, art always finds a way. Through the power of our talents, our stories, and technology we can still connect. We can still share. We can still feel," writes Artistic Director Wesley Nelson.

Patrons can have an interactive experience by requesting songs they want to hear.
