LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — State Representative Attica Scott announced on social media that she has contracted COVID-19.

Rep. Scott (D-Louisville) says she was tested last week, and just received the positive result on Sunday.

"I am going to adhere to health department guidelines and I am self-quarantining for the next 14 days until I get tested again," said Rep. Scott in a video released on Twitter.

She thanked healthcare workers who are testing people and conducting contact tracing. She says her daughter tested negative for the virus. Rep. Scott encouraged people to wash hands, wear a mask, and stay six feet apart.

Earlier this summer, state Senator Max Wise tested positive for COVID-19. US Senator Rand Paul announced he tested positive for the virus back in March. US Congressman Thomas Massie told a radio host last month that he has COVID-19 antibodies, and believes he contracted the virus in January.
