ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A federal grand jury has indicted a man with illegally dumping low-level nuclear waste at an Estill County landfill.

That's according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

In 2016, Cory Hoskins and his company, TENORM, were fined more than $2.6 million by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

Officials say TENORM was responsible for dumping out-of-state waste in landfills in Estill and Greenup Counties.

Officials say the waste was a byproduct of fracking and had been transported from Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania in 2015.
