LEXINGTON (LEX 18) — A house on Carlisle Avenue in Lexington was full of people when shots were fired into the home just after midnight Thursday morning.

Those shots sent one man to the hospital to be checked out as his injuries were non-life-threatening.

When police pulled up to the house on Carlisle Avenue near North Limestone, they found several shell casings on the street. They say they believe there were several rounds of gunfire directed toward the home.

Lexington Police Department Lt. Brian Peterson said bystanders help piece the details together. He said, "witnesses are telling us they did see a dark-colored SUV driving in front of the house, just before it happened."

Lt. Peterson said they do not have any details on a suspect.

"Preliminary investigation at this point does--we do believe it is not random," explained Lt. Peterson. "There does seem to be some sort of relationship here but we're still following up with witnesses to confirm that."
