17-year-old charged with 1st-degree assault in connection to Ascot Park shooting

The Lexington Police Department reported that a 17-year-old has been charged with first-degree assault in connection with a shooting that occurred on Ascot Park in Lexington on Oct. 6.

The teen has also been charged with minor in possession of a handgun, police noted.

One man is with serious injuries following a Monday evening shooting in the 1200 block of Ascot Park in Lexington.

According to Lexington Police, authorities responded to the area around 6:35 p.m. for reports of a shooting. When the arrived, a male victim was located and transported to a local hospital with reported serious injuries.
