MONTGOMERY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Montgomery County Health Department announced Friday that they have a confirmed case of COVID-19, as confirmed by LabCorp.

Gov. Andy Beshear announced Thursday that results were now going to be coming from separate labs across the state. The individual with COVID-19 has been isolating themselves at home.

Those people who have been in close contact with the individual while they were contagious are being contacted by the state epidemiologist and Montgomery County Health Department staff to inform them they may have been exposed and to ask if they have experienced any symptoms.
They are also being asked who else they have come into contact with so these people can also be provided information about monitoring for symptoms and to determine if they should also be tested for COVID-19.

State health officials do not recommend testing for individuals who do not have symptoms.
