HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Two benefit concerts are being planned to help out-of-work miners in Harlan County, with the first kicking off Friday night.
People will gather at the Bell Theater in Pineville for a night of music and good will.
All proceeds from the Music for Miners concert will go toward the former Blackjewel miners and their families.
The event is a collaboration between the Bell County tourism commission and Main Street Pineville.
The concert is among several initiatives to help the miners, who haven't seen a paycheck in more than a month since the company folded.
Friday's show will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
