(LEX 18) — Most of the new laws approved during this year's regular session of the Kentucky General Assembly go into effect today.

Among them, voters will be asked to show a photo ID at the polls, veterinarians are allowed to report animal abuse and people with state-issued ID cards will be added to the list of potential jurors.

13.3% of all bills introduced at this year's regular session of the General Assembly became law. Others were already in effect before today, including the state budget and COVID-19 relief.
