Nicholas County High School worker charged with rape of student

NICHOLAS COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Nicholas County High School worker has been charged with rape of a student on school grounds, according to authorities.

Kentucky State Police arrested 36-year-old Celena D. White of Carlisle on Tuesday afternoon at the school. She was charged with third-degree rape.

According to an arrest citation, White worked in food services. It says White "stated she had sex with a 17 year old juvenile being a student of Nicholas County High School."

The citation says the "sex happened on school grounds during school hours and happened more than once."

Nicholas County Schools released a news release on the arrest, saying officials "immediately initiated an investigation and contacted the Kentucky State Police.

"The employee has been terminated and criminal charges have been filed. With respect for the integrity of the Kentucky State Police investigation, no further comments will be provided."
